Flower Power Coaster Orders: 18

Agatha, a witch from the Wild, Wild West lives in solitude with her cats, Daisy and Mitsy (Mit-see), and her yarning hobbies. She runs a small craft business - emphasis on small - that she is working on evolving into an inspiring and successful emporium. One“customer” said her ideas were wicked – so Agatha wonders why they never bought anything. This year she hopes to make a name for her business and establish herself as the renowned craftswomen of the West.

Agatha’s craft business has been doing satisfyingly well, weakening Agatha’s doubts and hesitations and encouraging her to challenge herself with her patterns. Spring and Summer are intertwined this season and Agatha works viciously to compile all of her orders. While doing so, she brainstorms new ideas for her“Spring n’ Summer” collection. She wants something that says, “strolling on the boardwalk as one basks in the sunlight with a cup of lavender and vanilla ice cream heading to the beach”. So, to embody her specific daydream, Agatha decides to craft a handbag made up of crocheted granny squares. Content with the simple but purposeful idea, Agatha goes straight to work, saving the rest of her orders for another day.

Product Idea: Crochet Granny Square Handbag

Supplies: Assortment of colored yarn and their corresponding crochet hooks, a pair of scissors, a tapestry needle (to weave in edges), and motivation (Agatha will not be able to fulfill her summer daydream fantasy but she must push through… for her business!)

Execution: Agatha followed this tutorial by Secret Yarnery to crochet her granny squares.

As a final touch, Agatha added a braided yarn handle, made by taking three strands of yarn and braiding them together, and filled the new bag with the essentials, to make the picture even more appealing. “Yarn and crochet hook are not included with purchase.”Agatha says.

Agatha’s business seems to be gaining popularity, but is this prosperity fleeting or true?
