With Summer fast approaching, it’s important to find ways to find excitement without school. Luckily, living so close to a major city ensures that there are always events happening close by. Here are some activities to visit in and around Tucker this summer:
Movies on The Green
As part of the TKR Summer of Fun collection, Movie on the Green is a fun, family-friendly, and free event that will be the perfect cure for summertime boredom. Movies will be shown at the greenspace on Church Street and will start at 7:00 pm. Be sure to bring something to sit on!
Upcoming Movies:
Elemental - May 23
Migration - June 20
Wonka - July 18
Trolls Band Together - August 15
Six Flags/White Water
Amusement park lovers have lots of fun options to choose from this summer! Six Flags Over Georgia offers thrilling roller coasters like the Goliath, while White Water provides exciting water slides like the Bahama Bob. Six Flags costs $37, while White Water costs $30.
Stone Mountain
Stone Mountain is another great place to spend your summer days. Some of the many attractions include Stone Mountain Trails, the Sky Tram, the Dinosaur Walk, and Stone Mountain Golf. There is also a separate area with a water park, SkyHike, and theater. It costs $20/per person for a day pass to the entire park and $40 for a year-long pass.
Georgia Aquarium
If you love aquatic creatures and air conditioning, then the Georgia Aquarium is the perfect place for your summer adventures! There are beautiful exhibits like sea otters, sting rays, and exotic fish, or you could enjoy crowd favorites like the dolphin and sea lion shows. If you purchase tickets online it will cost $40.
Celebration of Independence
You can enjoy food, live music, and an amazing display of fireworks on Mainstreet, July 3rd. The event starts at 6:00 pm on Main Street and requires you to bring your own seating. It’s also free.
